It's a good setup for a beginner, and given that I bought a really nice guitar for my partner from this company, I was excited for my very own instrument from them. It's a good setup for a beginner, and given that I bought a really nice guitar for my partner from this company, I was excited for my very own instrument from them. Unfortunately, despite how much this kit has to offer beginner/intermediate players, I wasn't actually able to play. The rosin wouldn't transfer onto anything, no matter what. The strings also refused to be tuned, even as I adjusted the pegs accordingly. They kept slipping, or would have the opposite problem where I'd almost get them to the note they needed to be, but there'd be too much tension to tighten it more without risking snapping the string. The fine tuners, even when tightened up all the way, were loose and I was worried that with time they'd eventually break off. I genuinely hate leaving bad reviews, and my partner actually had to push me a bit to let my dissatisfaction be known, but I really am disappointed. I did try fixing the issues with the pegs and strings by looking up tutorials online, but unfortunately none of them could solve the problem. On the plus side, the reason I'm leaving 2 stars, the bow, case, and other little add-ons seem solid, but they're not much use if I can't actually play the violin itself.
