Product reviewed is the GIB Bass with Sunset finish. Very pleased with the look. The only flaw I observed is a small nick on the top edge of the headstock, which doesn't bother me at all. I made no adjustments to the setup. The strings were properly de-tuned for shipping, so it took a little time to set the right tension, but I'm happy with how it stays in tune (this bass has sealed tuners). The neck is unfinished - sort of like a baseball bat with no lacquer. It is neck-heavy, so using a high-friction strap helps to compensate when I'm standing. I usually play with it on my lap, and it's quite comfortable that way. The frets are what I'd call vintage-style (not jumbo) and the edges are neither super-smooth nor are they sharp. The angled headstock and passive pickups cater to my personal preferences. Having Volume and Tone knobs for both P and J gives you plenty of flexibility. Your amp setup is going to have the biggest impact on your sound. Variables such as EQ, Overdrive, Compression, and Noise Gate allow for endless possibilities. My best experience so far was playing straight into a Reverend Hellhound (a tube guitar amp designed similar to the old Fender Bassman) in 60w mode with very little gain and little or no reverb. It sounded fabulous. Adjusting the amp's bass, mid, and treble knobs gave me just what I wanted to hear. I'm happy with the output of the pickups as well. If you notice obnoxious hum, try reducing the output of the bridge pickup (worked for me). Glarry, you done good! Glad I got mine for $89.99 before they sold out.

Received in great shape, quickly and well packed. I did a tiny bit of setup on the bass, but basically it only required tuning. Finish of the wood was excellent and there were no fit/finish flaws at all. I'm just amazed that you can get an instrument this decent for under a hundred bucks ! Came with a dust case, tools, cable and strap. The accessories weren't first quality, but all were usable and remarkable again at such a low price. I'm looking for another Glarry now. This is my first bass, and I'm really liking it. It required major lowering of the string action and a couple of frets were high, but a little bit of setup and fret leveling made it play very nicely. I would definitely buy another Glarry instrument.

Ordered a GIB Bass in Burrlywood finish. Got it in 4 days! Box as in good shape. I was pleasantly surprised it was perfect. Neck was straight, string height was very close and intonation was spot on. Good job Glarry. I was so pleased with this entry level bass that I turned around an ordered a GST 6 String guitar in sunburst finish. It arrived as quickly as the bass did and in the same shape. i like the bass guitar alot. it has a minor blemish on the neck near the headstock. but other than that it is nice. I gave it 4 stars because the 1/4 in jack caused a bit of buzzing, once i changed it everything was fine. Plays great and stays in tune. Just a suggestion, on a black guitar it would be nice to see all black hardware. I changed all the hardware and the strings to "black it out". see attached picture. Hope you like.

I waited to do this review because the bass arrived with a broken G. Box was pretty beat up. I took it and had it checked out at my local music store to make sure there was no damage to the bass itself. None found. Sounds great! It's beautiful too.

This is a great guitar for the price. I've just recorded with it and am very well pleased and surprised. I will probably change the pickups later but it's not immediately necessary. It needed a slight set up to get the action and fret feel that I wanted but these are very personalized and objective areas. I'm going to check out other guitars from Glarry!

I am a life long guitar player and want a be amateur luthier. When I ordered this bass I expected to at least do a setup on it. To my amazement the string height was spot on along with the intonation and the neck needed no adjustment. There is no fret sprout and it is a hoot to play. The paint is surprisingly good. Is it as good as a big brand american made guitar, no. I found a few little pin size bubbles but you really have to look close to see them. The electronics function perfectly and the ...

The electronics function perfectly and the pot knobs turn just fine. I plan to polish the frets and oil the fret board but it really doesn't need it and I would do it to any new guitar. I have always wanted an electric bass to play around with and I have already gotten my money's worth out of it in entertainment. I would also note that when UPS delivered it they stuck around to see if I was going to refuse delivery because the box was so beat up. I have to hand it to Glarry, their Styrofoam packaging really did the job. In conclusion, I don't know how they are able to make a product of this reasonable quality at such a low price.

I received my Jazz Bass on time and in excellent condition. I will have to admit this Bass is even with the cost. I received and did a setup on the neck, and it plays very well. The pick-ups are not what I would normally choose, but there again the cost is very low. So if I add another 100.00 bucks, to purchase a set of moderate pickups, I will own a playable Bass for less than 200.00 dollars. That is un-heard of in this country. Overall it was a wise investment. If Glarry Guitars was to upgrade ...

This is a Christmas gift so I can't review the sound or even the quality yet, But it was well packed and appears to be in great condition. My son is the recipient and this guitar is the one he specifically requested so we will see how much he likes it on the 25th.
