I bought this bass for a school in the Philippines, and it is a perfect size for the students, and after setup it plays and sounds great. Note the "after setup" part. The intonation was so bad out of the box that I thought the frets were misplaced, and considered returning it as defective. It needed a TOTAL setup, as it wasn't even close, and was totally unplayable out of the box. Truss rod, saddle height and intonation all required major adjustment. Also the nut was a bit high, but I don't have slot files, and it turned out it was close enough. After setup it plays and sounds great, and the kids are having a good time learning to play bass.

This bass arrived in less than perfect shape due to a shipping snafu during literally the hottest days of the year! The fingerboard was extremely dry, and the neck was bowed. After a week of allowing the bass to acclimate to its new home, making daily small adjustments to the truss rod, it was brought into decent relief. All of this effort was rewarded with a very easy playing and fun instrument that is great for a guitar player who occasionally picks up a bass, like me. After the basics of playability had been addressed I decided that it would be nice to have a more gutsy tonal palate on tap, so I added a MusicMan-style humbucker in place of the bridge pickup,coil split wiring, a five-way switch, master volume and separate push-pull tone pits that select caps for different tone coloring. Probably not a project that a novice would want to undertake, but it does provide an example of what can be done with this bass. The basic "bones" are good, materials solid, fit and finish is OK - nothing to complain about at this price point. Good instrument for kids or adults looking for a short scale bass.

Definitely buy it. I tuned it up and it sounds nice. My kids were playing with it for a few hours and it held pretty good.

Nice inexpensive Microscale bass. Neck is satin and smooth. No fret ends poking out. Body is lightly finished with no grain filler or very little. A little rough to the touch. Plays fine out of the box and tuned up. For $100 great for a beginner, little kid or person with smaller hands or stature. For an experienced player like me, it's an $100 body and neck at 25.5" scale with a good balance point for the strap. It uses some standard parts, which means it can take some standard replacements. I did have to get a bridge replacement that had adjustable string space, humcancelling blade style pickups, better strap buttons, the tuners are fine, and a new wiring harness with better components. And string with a set of Ibanez Mikro 5 strings with the highest string left off to make up for the lower tension. None of this is necessary, but I want to, so I am.

This bass is not just for kids. If you like short scale basses and/or want a nice travel instrument this is for you. It's also really nice for recording and practicing in front of the computer. My bass had a minor problem and Glarry customer service took care of it right away. They have great communication and really do what it takes to satisfy the customer.

When I saw the specs on this bass, I had to buy it, I am glad I did. It has great tone, especially for such a small scale. Once I did a setup on it (file the nut, adjust the bridge, adjust the truss rod, and dressed the fret ends), It plays like butter. There was a little too much hum from the pickups, but once I shielded the cavity on the back, it's dead silent. The Mahogany body, Maple neck, and Rosewood fretboard make for a great bass. If you know how to do a proper setup, this is a great buy ...

Much better quality than I expected. I did have to do major adjustments for the intonation and had to file the nut slot for the E string, it was much too high. If you know how to make these adjustments, you will have a reasonably playable instrument.

This little bass sounds HUGE. With a decent amp I get great throaty tones that growl when I need them to. there's plenty of bite and punch available when you need it. The build quality is good. The finish looks like it's a stain with a simple waxing done to protect it. This is just how the original high end bases that this one emulates were done. Those with extra large hands will find it a little skinny but still playable at the nut. This bass is designed for the little guys but ultimately it's ...

This bass is designed for the little guys but ultimately it's scale length is the same as a standard electric guitar so really anyone can play it and have fun. The bass itself is great. The included strap broke within 5 minutes, the faux leather is very weak. Included strings weren't that great but he's 4 so I don't wanna buy him top of the line strings anyway. The tuning knobs were slightly loose but that was an easy fix. Everything else was fine, we got it in plain wood so we could decorate it and it's now painted and covered with dinosaur stickers:)

Pretty little mini (Kids) bass right here that fits exactly what I need for it to do!!! I was pretty surprised at the weight of this small sized bass and even more amazed at the sound it put out!!!! Good recommendation for a child who wants to learn to play bass.....and even BETTER tool for an adult to have for a traveling musician to practice or improvise new bass lines while on the move!!!!! Loving this one, and was just notified that my 2nd GW101 arrived as I'm typing this!!!!!! Well! Gotta g ...

Quite a good value for the price. I copper tape insulated the control cavity and pickup wells to tame the buzzing. Worked very well. I tightened the truss rod, shimmed the neck and it intonated just fine. I played this with a fairly loud drummer through a Rumble 40 for an amped acoustic trio. Pickups are hot enough, amp volume was at around 12-1 O'Clock. It's a beautiful bass too. When I pulled the input jack out to copper insulate the ground wire fell off, no big deal, just soldered it back. I ...
