Got this for my son for his birthday. Pretty solid instrument for the price. Was pretty much ready to go out of the box with a couple of minor tweaks. Really hard to beat the product for the price.

I bought this bass for a school in the Philippines, and it is a perfect size for the students, and after setup it plays and sounds great. Note the "after setup" part. The intonation was so bad out of the box that I thought the frets were misplaced, and considered returning it as defective. It needed a TOTAL setup, as it wasn't even close, and was totally unplayable out of the box. Truss rod, saddle height and intonation all required major adjustment. Also the nut was a bit high, but I don't ...

As a woman in my 70's, I bought this kid's bass after seeing several positive reviews where I could see an adult playing it, who said it could be good for older folks. I'm taking a jazz group and decided to replace my u-bass with this. I expect to be happy with it, but want to note several concerns. 1) The screws covering the truss rod cover spin in their holes (I've heard this stripping can happen during manufacture); 2) the strings are quite rough (for a u-bass player) so I looked into flat wo ...

My husband is a professional bassist and I'm a pianist. We set out to find a short scale bass that our daughter could use to learn the bass. The bass guitars we own are way too big for her to be comfortable with as she's still a young child. After reading tons of reviews and watching so many videos, we decided to try this one. So we ordered it, albeit with some trepidation. We received it yesterday and my husband is surprised that it is actually better than he thought it would be. It does ne ...

This bass arrived in less than perfect shape due to a shipping snafu during literally the hottest days of the year! The fingerboard was extremely dry, and the neck was bowed. After a week of allowing the bass to acclimate to its new home, making daily small adjustments to the truss rod, it was brought into decent relief. Daily applications of Neck Honey brought back the fretboard to acceptable condition. I leveled, crowned, and polished the frets. All of this effort was rewarded with a very ea ...

1st time Guitar purchaser. I purchased this for my 16 year old grand daughter who wants to learn to play bass. The primary reason for this specific guitar is because she is 4'9" and I felt the smaller style would fit her stature better. She had expressed a desire to find a smaller bass as well... so this seemed like the right choice. I watched several reviews on YouTube of various small bass guitars, and this specific guitar GW101 was used by by a 12 year old young woman with the name EllenPlays ...

Definitely buy it. I tuned it up and it sounds nice. My kids were playing with it for a few hours and it held pretty good.

As a girl who is more on the petite end of the spectrum I can say that this bass works pretty good from a beginners perspective its my first bass and ive been able to reach all the frets just fine. Although its definitely up to a standard far past beginner I have enjoyed its size and weight discounting the non even distribution there of.

I am working on some summer projects well away from my studio and struggled finding someone who could lower the bridge and improve the action on the acoustic electric bass available. On a hunch, I bought a whole new guitar hoping the action was better and it is both perfect and adjustable. Easier to play than my full size guitars as the frets are closer together. Sounds great. I'll be buying another one for the other coast soon and maybe a third to stay in the back of the car with the Pig Nose a ...

7 year old loves it! This is not a toy. This is a real bass and guess what? It sounds amazing. Set it up to your liking and this thing is a ton of fun to play with. Has pickup volumes and so far, no issues. We truly love this bass.

A Glarry short scale bass in natural finish was delivered on time. All it needed was a setup like any new bass. A couple fret ends needed a little filing and action lowered, but that is no big deal. I decided to put flat wound strings on it. What a deal.

Great practice bass, or in my case, the only bass I'm comfortable playing. So much fun, inspires me to write more because I'm not worried about the debt incurred buying it!

I am a beginner so I bought this at what I considered a very good price. It may need better strings or some adjustments eventually but in the mean time I can start learning the fundamentals of bass guitar.

The item was sufficient for our young people. The band teacher is pleased with the size and how well they have with playing it for their own good use.

This little bass is awesome! For the price…it's the greatest thing in the world. I got it from my son, but I would use myself. A+

I purchased this childs/beginners bass specifically for camping. It's hilariously bad, but it's perfect for what I want. And I know how to fix most of the problems to make it work correctly. I'm currently thinking of this more like a kit than a finished instrument. * The body of the instrument has a *very* thin layer of color and no lacquer or varnish, and there are a lot of cross-grain scratches which can't be fixed without removing the dye. The scratches are the only non-repairable flaw. ...

Fun, with surprisingly decent sound for the $ Body (while tiny) is much thicker than it could be - and considerably thicker than most full-sized instruments. Neck and fretboard are well made. Electronics and output jack are sub par.

Great sound in a little package. The positive - very nice sound, fretboard smooth, no fret issues, smooth and playable neck. Feels like a guitar. The negative - finish was done very quickly. Pictures are much nicer than what I received. Red paint is opaque (not transparent like pictures), dull finish, even paint drip in the front. Will most likely require setup both at bridge and truss rod. Was easy to setup. Overall, for the price this is amazing value. If you are hesitating, go ahead, you wi ...

First ever review. Absolutely fantastic! For the price, hell forget the price! I have been having so much fun playing this. Micro bass, 2 octave guitar length scale, sounds great, did I mention fun? Considering price paid, set up is decent, still adjusting details, but better than passable out of the box. Looks - Red looks awesome, matte finish, sweet. Build - Solid, no issues, and it has some hefty to it, in a good way, for the size. Sound - Played thru a 300 watt bi amped Carvin 2-10, 1-15 sta ...

I got the yellow color of this bass guitar and it looks nice and sounds good, tone is great clear without noise. Personally I bought this guitar, coz I need lighter one for travel and to record my own composition as a hobby while on board the ship, coz I'm a seaman right now. Then I made a record out of this bass to complete the track of my song and the mixing result was excellent, the quality sound is like no difference to a standard size bass guitar. And I'm very happy with the result, now I'm ...

The good: Surprisingly well manufactured for its price point, with no fret overhang and the electronics all worked as expected. The tone was surprisingly good. Not so good: The intonation was not set, meaning that the bridge saddles were not adjusted to ensure that notes are in proper pitch as you play higher up the neck. After setting the intonation I discovered that with this scale the 4th string (E string in standard tuning) will always be slightly sharp on higher frets without reinstalling ...

I ordered the natural wood version of this bass. I'm a semi-pro jazz musician who gigged regularly for about 10 years and I have a lot of basses. I ordered this one to turn it into a piccolo bass -- the same as a regular bass but tuned an octave higher. I use it to front a band. I was hoping the shorter scale (25.5") of this bass would make the string tension lower so it exaggerated the kind of buzzy sound you get with a piccolo bass -- a feature of its sound that distinguishes it from a gui ...

Out of the box, it was better than expected but will still need a good setup which I can do myself. The biggest surprise is that the body was unfinished! Bare wood! It still needs sanding in some spots. I ordered the natural finish but was still expecting a glossy coat. This is actually fine with me because now I can give hit it with some Tru-oil and give it the finish I really want. Fretboard is very dry. Electronics work. For the money I can't really complain. The size is perfect for a ...

The bass itself is very nice and has a great colour. The sound is also enjoyable, and is a really good bass for the price.

I will start this review by saying I am not a bass player. I am a guitarist of 33 years, and a drummer for even longer. I have a small studio and have owned several bass guitars through the years. I play good enough to confidently play my own bass tracks in the studio. With that said, I am in the process of recovering an album and needed some bass. I had chosen a nice 5 string that was significantly more expensive than this one. However, I ran across this guy about a year agoI play Fender strat ...

on February 20, 2024

Nice inexpensive Microscale bass. Neck is satin and smooth. No fret ends poking out. Body is lightly finished with no grain filler or very little. A little rough to the touch. Plays fine out of the box and tuned up. For $100 great for a beginner, little kid or person with smaller hands or stature. For an experienced player like me, it's an $100 body and neck at 25.5" scale with a good balance point for the strap. It uses some standard parts, which means it can take some standard replacements. I ...

It's great for the price. However, keep in mind that it comes unadjusted, so it's hard to tune at first. I had to spend some minutes trying to get it done.
