I have never played a cello and wanted to start a new venture learning to play so I bought this kit. I would say the quality and price are perfectly matched. I look forward to learning to play on this beginner cello and hopefully I will outgrow it and progress to something more advance some day.

I wanted to for awhile, but knows NOTHING ABOUT IT, well, I thought this would be perfect after researching for days! IT ARRIVED UNSCATHED! The cello is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and came with EVERTHING a beginner would need. It plays well (I played it) and it tuned well. I am so pleased!

I was interested in playing Cello and didn't want to spend tons of money. This was well worth the price and actually plays pretty well. I would suggest getting a set of better strings and Bow.

Projection is bold, and the timbre was neither too bright nor extremely dark but somewhere in the middle, a good starting point for a beginner.

This is a great student instrument if you're looking for a quality cheap option for beginning cello. I took it to my local orchestra store and they even commented on the quality for an online purchase. Tuning pegs will sometimes come loose at the beginning while tuning but this is completely normal, just push them in a little. You will need a different rosin as the one that comes with it is honestly unusable. I bought a new one for three bucks so not a big deal. The storage bag is good if you do ...

As a beginner's cello, it far exceeded my expectations! I purchased it as a Birthday present for myself. I was expecting it to arrive ten days after my actual Birthday, however, much to my surprise it arrived on my Birthday! I was elated! Everything was there and for the money I paid, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall craftsmanship and sound quality! Like fine wine, I am quite sure its tone will grow sweeter with age!

Excellent cello! If I have any complaints, and they are only slight, it is that the quality of the rosin that comes with it is quite poor, and I found that getting a good sound was a lot easier after I got some better quality rosin. The bow is also on the lower side of things, as far as quality of construction goes, but it is definitely functional and gets the job done.

My wife is by no means a professional cellist, and only played a little in college, but she wanted to pick it up again so I got her this for our anniversary. She absolutely loves it. It came strung but without the bridge installed, but was really quite easy. A professional would surely have some complaints, but for a beginner or someone on a budget who wants an instrument to practice on, it perfectly fits the bill. It is well-made for what it is and the sound is great.

The distance of the strings from the heel should be roughly 5 mm from the low string and 3mm from the high string. This instrument came with dimensions twice as high making it unhealthy to play. The repair man will most likely need to sand down the bridge and the nut. Also, you will need peg paste to keep the instrument in tune. New strin ...

My personal budget friendly suggestions: D'Addario strings and rosin, fiddlerman carbon fiber bow ($77). With all that being said, this instrument will do fine for a beginner who does not wish to rent a $2000 instrument at $50 a month from their local music shop.
