My daughter loved this cello it's very nicely put together we had to take it in to get toned and get some strings put on the only thing it's missing is rosin comes all dried out and u have to get a new one

Just got it today. Gorgeous! Black is really really cool. Bridge is not set, but to be expected for shipping. Everything pictured arrived, sound post is in right place as well. Tuned it up and sounds great! It meets all my requirements for a cello.

My husband wanted to learn how to play the cello. The cello arrived in great condition. It looked beautiful. He was able to tune it just fine and it did take a couple of days to "hold" the tune, but that is expected. It's been a great starter. Just a tip for those starting too. Use a nail file to rough up the rosin and then the rosin will better coat the bow. I would recommend for anyone needing a starter cello!

My wife is thrilled with this. It is affordable enough that there need not be the expectation that she will one day be an expert at the instrument; something that she enjoys is enough. This may not be as good as more expensive cellos, but for someone who had nothing and no expectations, it is wonderful.

I am very pleased with this purchase. It is the 4th instrument from Glarry I have purchased, and I have never been let down. I cannot imagine a better starter instrument. I agree with other reviews, the bow is a little hard to rosin up, and the fine tuners are a little hard to tune. But these are minor considerations. Came and looks as described. I was impressed with the cellos resonance for being so non-expensive compared to my local music store. I would definitely recommend these cellos to anyone just starting out like myself & someone who doesn't want to pay arm and leg for an instrument that they aren't sure how long they will play it (like your kid in school perhaps).

This is a really good deal. The instrument I received has good tone, and was very playable as soon as I stood up the bridge and tuned up. You might need to use a very small file to cut the bridge grooves a bit deeper, I did. The bow is OK, but it's definitely a bargain bow. I would recommend getting better rosin as well. Build quality is very good for the price. Finish is also very good. My only complaint is the fine tuners, which are not very good, and felt a bit "gritty" until I cleaned ...

I totally recommend it. Was a Birthday gift for my 15 year old son, he is happy to have it and so do I .?????? Exactly as described…It is perfect, has a bright color, easy to ensamble, and bag is perfect. Sounds great, was super easy to set up and tune. The only complaint is that the rosin isn't so great, but luckily he has access to better rosin at school.

This is the least expensive option I can find. I like that it comes as a set with the bow and bag. If you're not familiar with the cello, be prepared to go to a luthier or professional cellist to set up the cello upon receipt because the bridge was packed separately in the case. The cello and bow are both solid. I really love my Cello! Iv been in orchestra for 6 years and this is would be perfect for a beginners. However the strings are cheap and my D string came unthreaded at the base when I tried to tune it when I received it. It has great sound and tone, but the groves on it bridge are not deep enough so the A string has a hard time staying on the bridge.

I'm a professional violist, so I know enough to say this is perfect for my son to start cello. The whole set up is really well-done and is as expected. It's fine! Sturdy, well-made, student quality cello. Everything came in great shape and as expected. Very happy with this and it's way cheaper than renting. Totally worth it.

Needs to be tuned, but besides that my daughter loves it. There are no problems with the design or defects. This gives her a chance to see if she really wants to play one before moving on to a more expensive professional one.

Keep in mind that this is, after all, only a $200 cello, so don't expect miracles. Yes, it's a fantastic instrument for the price, but they can only do so much with a $200 price. If you think you're (or your child) are going to seriously get into playing the cello, I would recommend renting one from a music store, or buying a more expensive one. I recommend that if you don't want to spend upwards of like 3,000 - 10,000 and don't know where to start, This is a excellent thing to start out on. Also in the future you could always upgrade to something professional.

The cello comes with the bridge uninstalled, the strings completely loose, and no rosin whatsoever on the bow. But it's really not too hard to set up. Overall, it's worth the price.
