There are two large (3inch) areas on the neck that are rough and unsanded. There is a loose or poorly attached wire because there is a loud buzz when the bass is plugged in. The initial tune went ok. The neck was 1/2 a turn out of alignment. The bridge adjustment screws have a very thick thread, so setting string height is not perfect. The pickups are not able to be set for height without shims. Overall a fun very light bass, but has quite a few flaws. Would have rather chosen an option without an amp.

I'm very pleased with my Glarry GIB bass with 20W amplifier purchase. As a guitarist that just wanted to learn some bass lines for various songs, I found that the GIB bass exceeds my expectations. After an initial tuning the bass has stayed in tune very well and the intonation going up the fretboard is consistently in tune well past the 12th fret. I'm very pleased with my Glarry GIB bass with 20W amplifier purchase. As a guitarist that just wanted to learn some bass lines for various songs, I found that the GIB bass exceeds my expectations. After an initial tuning the bass has stayed in tune very well and the intonation going up the fretboard is consistently in tune well past the 12th fret. In addition, the 20W amplifier sounds quite good and offers plenty of volume for practice or recording. Harmonics at the 7th, 12th, and 19th frets ring out nicely and in tune for the A,D, and G strings. For the low E string, I had to use a pick to get much of a harmonic tone. The included carry bag is more of a dust cover as it has no padding to protect the instrument, so I will be replacing that part of the combo package.

I'm only giving 4 stars because I'm not sure of the sound quality. It shipped very quickly. Arrived in a carefully packed box. My daughter gets lots of compliments on the color. She took it to school to tune and play, so I've yet to hear it play. Overall happy with my purchase thus far.

The guitar looks nice and the functionality is solid. However, the pick guard is a printed texture "red pearl" which isn't a big deal. The deal breaker is the mirror-backed plastic piece that covers the volume knob and the cable jack. It looks like metal in the picture (and like every other guitar on the market, cheap or expensive, it should be). This piece of plexiglass is the Achille's heel of the whole rig. You have to hold it down to keep it from flexing too much when unplugging the guitar ...

It looks like metal in the picture (and like every other guitar on the market, cheap or expensive, it should be). This piece of plexiglass is the Achille's heel of the whole rig. You have to hold it down to keep it from flexing too much when unplugging the guitar. I get that it is an affordable instrument, but that piece of plastic is going to break in a year or less, regardless of how much it is babied. If not for that, this value bass guitar would easily get five stars. A five inch piece of chrome metal was a weird place to "cheap-out" and swap in a junk plastic part.

My buddy must have gotten really lucky with his previous purchases.. I opened this thing super excited and the finish is GARBAGE.. bubbles and bumps in the paint, there's a decent gouge on the pickguard, the neck is unfinished in some most areas like it was barely touched with sandpaper. But this is just cosmetics it's not the main issues I still woulda given 4 stars if the feedback wasn't AWFUL and the thing would stay in tune. For the price at least I learned a valuable lesson. Cheap is cheap ...

So overall I am a little disappointed in the way this bass came. For one, the pick guard came already scratched, underneath the plastic protective coating. Rough handling before packaging? Seems like it. Action is pretty high, so not something I could play without a lot of fret buzz before getting a setup. The neck has pitting along where the D string runs and a pretty heavy metallic scratch, easily noticeable on the 10th fret. It tuned up nicely but as I said, the buzz is too high to play ...

It tuned up nicely but as I said, the buzz is too high to play out of the box. The amp is good enough for home use and you can hear while practicing. The cord was either defective or just not very good because I experienced buzz with this cord while other brands did not do the same. I really wanted to love this bass but because of the combination of more than usual cosmetic flaws out of the box combined with the neck pitting that will become an issue in the future, I would skip this bass. I am hoping Glarry makes this right. Maybe I just got a not so good one.
