Beautiful Sax, I love it! I never played Sax as a kid because my Benny Goodman loving parents coaxed me into learning the Bb Clarinet and playing in the school band. I am 69 now and finally own one, hopefully I will play it for many years, exceptional quality and value, thanks so much!

I am an older gentleman and love Jazz music. I decided to play the saxophone and bought the Garry black Alto Saxophone. This is my first clarinet purchase. I'm teaching myself clarinet at home. It seems like it's awfully hard to blow into this mouthpiece, even when following all of the tips and actually getting the right sound out of the instrument. I think that a slightly better mouthpiece would be nice, but overall it's a nice looking clarinet and very decent for the price. I have no idea how long it will last. I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart too quickly.

Perfect for beginners! Lightweight and easy to carry. I'd rate it an 8.5 for quality.

Brass instruments are instruments that are played by the musician blowing into a tub in order to make a sound. The vibration of the lips as the player blows into the instrument is what really makes the sound. Pitch of the sound can also be altered by the player by changing the pressure from the lips which is put against the mouthpiece. The valves on these instruments are opened and closed by using the keys pressed by the player's fingers and these valves are what allow the musician to alter the sound that is being made.  Just like trumpet, tuba, cornet, baritone horn are generally made with valves.

Brass instruments are best known for their bold tones and are often used in music to add power to the overall sound. Some have a rich sound while others can have more of a sharp sound that cuts through.
