I must admit it. I bought this package, just so I could upgrade with new higher quality parts. But I now question doing it. Just for fun I set up the units as was. The only thing I needed to ajust, out of the box. Was to tune the guitar. Everything about the guitar was perfect. Nothing out of the normal playing conditions. I must admit it. I bought this package, just so I could upgrade with new higher quality parts. But I now question doing it. Just for fun I set up the units as was. The only thing I needed to ajust, out of the box. Was to tune the guitar. Everything about the guitar was perfect. Nothing out of the normal playing conditions. I exspected to hear a very cheap twangy sound. Was I so ever surprised. The tiny amp produced a great sound. Yes we have a less expensive quality of a guitar and amp. But I had played on it, for over an hour, before I even thought of connecting to my regular gear. It sounds so clear and rich. Now yes it has it's limilts, but for a beginner set. It is above perfect.
The amp is said to be twenty watts. On the amp it reads ten watts with eight ohms. I did open the back, and it is a simple amp, with an unmarked 5" speaker. I did not check the speaker impedance. Besides who cares. It sounds great, for it's size.
Perfect for an apartment, or kid's bedroom. Plus it does have a headphone output, and a mp3 input, and a drive boost button.
For a beginner this is by far the best quality package out there, for this price.
