Nice bass, it is well made for my usage. Action is low which is ny preference and the strings that came with it are decent.

So 4 out of 5. My reason is because I had to adjust the neck and bridge to eliminate some ringing on a couple frets including 1sr fret F and low C. Other than that for the price, quality, sound, packaging, body and all is good. This also is good if you are wanting to try a 5 string bass without breaking the bank. Its not for everyone but yes I would buy this again. Considering the 5 string jazz down the road.

WOW! Heard this bass being played on a video and it sounded great! After conversation with the one playing at the time, found out he wasn't using any pedals or effects. Was still a bit skeptical, but purchased it anyway. Once again...WOW! The sound is EXCELLENT! Especially being passive. A few minor issues like pod noise, but that's an easy fix. Lightweight but durable. Neck is fast and smooth. Action is spot on. Will probably order another one just because!

After buying my first Glarry guitar in Sept. 2020 I decided to replace my 5 string Rogue bass that I had sold. So I bought this one from Glarry. Recently picked up the Brown one, while it was on Closeout. I was super surprised to find it a really Nice looking Stain! The pics made it look an Ugly Brown Paint. Anyway,.. I am a Reseller, and have had excellent experience with Glarry, so far. Especially with the Basses! They do a geat job with them, electric guitars, also. Electric Guitar has always been my main instrument, so dialing in a great bass tone is a skill I am still honing. At first, the amp left something to be desired... But after some research, I was able to dial in a solid tone that I used to record bass on 5 Heavy Metal tracks. I have since upgraded to a new amp (Fender Rumble 15, which I highly recommend) and the tone is spectacular. Punchy & Tight. I still use the GB-20 as an effective Studio Monitor. It is a great/handy speaker for playing music and other media through. The neck is on the thicker side, but very playable...The unfinished Maple Neck feels great! As a budget instrument, it is a great design. If a player decides to upgrade to a higher end Bass Guitar with a thinner neck at some point... They will have built a solid fret hand technique by learning/practicing on a more bulky design. I am EXTREMELY happy with my purchase. It is a fun instrument with a great feel. I chose the Burlywood Finish and it is a truly beautiful instrument. Huge appreciation for Glarry Instruments for making truly playable instruments at such an affordable price. If you're on the fence about purchasing this... Go for it! It is a high quality, budget instrument. The only reason that I can't give it 5 stars is because it was pretty much unplayable out of the box. The neck was too straight, the action at the bridge was way too low, and the 23rd fret was a bit high. However, after a simple setup (and filing the 23rd fret down slightly), it plays great. None of these issues really bother me, since I bought this instrument as a project anyway, so I plan on doing much more work on it, but I just thought everyone should be aware if they're planning on buying. If you are comfortable doing a setup yourself or paying a bit more to take it to a luthier to have them do a setup on it, this is a killer bass. Will definitely buy from Glarry again in the future.

Overall, for the price, this is a good instrument. Upon getting the bass the neck was bowed quite a bit, couldn't play it this way. But I did the typical new guitar setup on it and all is good now with playability. My only legitimate complaint is with the pups/electronics. The bridge pup doesn't put out sound, even with the volume knob maxed, until the volume on the neck pup is turned up. But even then the volume of the bridge pup is faint. Quite impressed with the bass. Holds tune well. Neck needed some sanding because it was sticky and a bit rough. I have to tell you, I bought this because I have played a 4 string forever and wanted something cheap to see how a 5 string plays. This bass will be on stage with me soon. Highly recommend for a lower end priced bass! For a $125 bass its pretty nice. I have a couple of $1000 Fender basses that I love

It works well for a starter. Would be 5 stars except the neck and the bridge don't look to be lined up that well. The space between the top of the fretboard and the B string gets bigger toward the body of the guitar compared to the headstock. This causes the pickups to be off compared to the string.

But the real reason for leaving this review is to convey just how great the quality is. My wife's initial reaction: "that is beautiful - a work of art!", and she is so correct. Having owned many basses and played for 35+ years, this is as good as any bass I have had. You will see many other reviews state the same thing. The action, the finish, the sound - there is nothing to complain about, even if you took the affordable price out of consideration. Buy one of these now before they figure out they could charge 2-3x as much and I would still recommend buying even at those prices. I am installing a thumb rest on it and using this the next weekend for a songwriter showcase. Can't wait to see what compliments I get on it. Glarry, you guys do a great job and my hat is off to you.

5 string bass in burley wood. Fit and finish first class. Unbelievably light. Fantastic value for money. Mine played very badly out of the box, with the neck seemingly overdone on the truss rod. Relaxed that a turn, set intonation and saddles and it's pretty good now imo. Think it would benefit from having some frets filed a bit. But all in all it's excellent for the money. I could spend 3-4 times as much for the next up cheap 5 string, but I doubt it would play better and I bet it would be sig ...

An excellent 5-string bass. It was already intonated out of the box, and the only thing it really needed was the string height adjusted. After that it's playing perfectly.

Bag could be a touch less utilitarian but for the price point? Okay. Same with the strap but handy. The cable is noisy... do not use. Other than that, OMG did they do well! As in better than MIM J Basses! But maybe that was the local stores?) 20 minutes to check everything and tune it up and it was go time so worth it without the "windbreaker/carry sack" Just upgrade the bag and ditch the cable for D'Adarrio for 10 as an add on because that was mind blowingly noisy.

The action was set quite nicely if a bit high, so i went to the world of you tube to remind myself of the setup mechanics to achieve as best as possible setup. I had to loosen the truss rod which gave a slight ark to the neck and then i could lower at the bridge. and voila i have a nice playing bass. And i would definitely recommend at this price point. Remarkably good bass for the money. Finish is beautiful, electronics are completely quiet, tone is very good. My only gripe is a strange bump near the head stock joint. At some point I will need to reshape that part of the neck with further sanding. All and all, i am very pleased with my new bass guitar.

UPDATE: Glarry was very communicative and helpful with my order. Their customer service is very kind and understanding. I would still recommend getting this Bass provided you didn't end up with one that received poor treatment in shipping. Still a great company who sells good instruments.
