First, I want to speak to the customer service... WOW! I'd ordered this in blue, as a gift and was told shortly after ordering that the recipient would prefer yellow. First, I want to speak to the customer service... WOW! I'd ordered this in blue, as a gift and was told shortly after ordering that the recipient would prefer yellow. They managed to get it swapped out prior to shipping! It arrived damaged (UPS fault!), and Glarry STILL got it replaced before Christmas!! No BS, no hassle, just fixed the problem. NOW, the guitar: So many people will say 'for the price'.. and that's certainly true, but not representative of the value. I bought a $80 guitar, roughly... I've got $300 guitars that are not any better, and some that were, as a matter of fact, not as well finished as this one out of the box. If you're new and want a solid starter, get it! If you want something you can hack around on with mods, GET TWO!! If you want a guitar that's OK with being tossed in the car to go jam with friends, HELL YEAH! Spend a little bit of time learning how to set up your guitar, and practice on this. I got it easily playable (intonated and string height adjusted) in about 5-10 minutes. (and then promptly wrapped it for tomorrow's Christmas Eve gifting). I'll getting myself one of the tele models soon, because at these prices... well, I can always find room for another guitar.
