I don't think I've ever been more impressed with a budget instrument out of the box. The bass arrived quickly and well packaged. As a girl who is more on the petite end of the spectrum I can say that this bass works pretty good from a beginners perspective its my first bass and ive been able to reach all the frets just fine. Although its definitely up to a standard far past beginner I have enjoyed its size and weight discounting the non even distribution there of.

EDIT: After playing this bass for a few months I am definitely unhappy with the Active Electronics. While getting an active bass for this price is great--the 9volt is constantly being used even when the bass is not plugged in. Please note you will have to remove your 9volt every time you play this thing so it doesn't die on you while its sitting on the rack. Incredibly disappointing result from what I originally thought was an excellent purpose and if I could rate this purchase again I would giv ... Definitely would recommend the passive version As a long time 4 string player I was not sure if I wanted to add one string or two. After a friend of mine really enjoyed his Glarry 5 string, I figured I'd check out the six and see if it was for me. Overall, I'm very impressed--the bass came surprisingly well set up and after throwing in my 9volt and tuning I was essentially good to go. If you're like me and trying to learn how to play a six string, this might be the right purchase for you. A lot of folks in these reviews seem to speak to buzzy electronics, but I haven't noticed much on my end. Six strings naturally have some string resonance/buzzing if not muted properly, and most of the unwanted noise I seem to have is a result of that and my playing and not the pickups. Its also kind of strange that the frets actually extend a little past the neck? I have noticed that while my action is pretty ideal at frets 1-15 neck, when you get to about fret 20 or so it becomes a lot more difficult to effectively fret these strings. Not sure if this is something I'll be able to solve on my own by making adjustments, or if the neck is just a little funky/warped. Even if that is the case, I think I got my money's worth here just being able to experiment with the two additional strings and learning proper muting technique. I would not call this professional quality nor do I think I would risk gigging with it, but I would absolutely recommend it to a "student" or someone like myself who is not playing professionally. Considering a lot of six strings are 4x this much, it certainly is a great value

Glarry has really stepped up their game. The Gjazz Bass is beautiful. The finish is flawless. I use Glarrys as the basis for heavily modified builds. Is was planning on painting the body, but the finish was so nice I'm going to keep it natural (burlywood). For the price, you can't beat the quality.

Was not happy with this bass guitar. It needs much work. I tuned it because the 15 and 16 fret had same tune and the E and A string had sever buzzing. I don't know if it's worth taking it to get it worked on because of the price I paid for it. I need a 4 string because I have a 5 string so now I guess I buy another 4 string elsewhere.

I received a very playable instrument that is a great start for those interested in trying 6-string bass. The neck was pretty well setup, and the intonation is perfect through the 24-fret. A Glarry short scale bass in natural finish was delivered on time. All it needed was a setup like any new bass. A couple fret ends needed a little filing and action lowered, but that is no big deal. I decided to put flat wound strings on it. What a deal.

This bass arrived in excellent condition and was easy to tune. The pickups sound good, although output was on the low side. Very lightweight, and I will put this in the class of basses I have played costing 2-5 times more. Absolutely incredible bass for the money. Ive been playing guitar for 35+ yrs and needed an inexpensive bass for home recording. It was packaged nicely and only required an intonation tweak on the low E.
