As a drummer who decided to dabble on learning a new instrument, this was a great, affordable option. As a drummer who decided to dabble on learning a new instrument, this was a great, affordable option. I had already purchased a decent Jackson bass guitar within my budget, and this was kind of an added bonus as I needed a practice amp and it just happened to come with some extras (including a 2nd bass guitar). As some reviewers stated, the frets are not rounded off which does cause minor cuts to the hand (but no bloodshed, and I've been playing for hours). The guitar is very out of tune out of the box but as a beginner, I was able to use this as an opportunity to learn how to do relative tuning and got it sounding pretty good. It's a beautiful finish on the guitar and there were no damage issues with the contents although my box was a little damaged which is expected in transport. The amp alone makes this worth the money for me and it sounds great at low volumes and even at highest volume… honestly, the bad reviews I read seemed like they were from seasoned bass players who were looking to tear this item apart. I would say if you're a beginner, or someone who's never played bass, this is the best option for your money. I have been playing between both of my guitars for 3 weeks now and am happy with my purchase.
