I've been playing bass for over 50 years and have owned and built probably 60 instruments. I prefer 5 string with a low B and am partial to a Fender jazz style 2 pickup passive configuration. Sanded and filled the fingerboard slots, dyed it and oiled the board and then restrung the bass with some D'Addario half rounds. Plugged it in and......wow! Wonderful sustain, GREAT fretless growl, very even tone across the board...ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! No, I don't recommend you get one and immediately alter it ,but I knew what sound I was looking for and this Glarry nails it. And for $140 shipped??? Can not be beat!! And the craftsmanship is pretty damn good:)
