My Glarry GV201 arrived a week after purchase, shipped via FedEx. It looks amazing, all the promised pieces were included and the case is pretty nice too. The tuner isn't bad, took some time to figure out how best to position it and my strings are still being broken in so they don't stay in tune well. I've been told it gets better with use though. Only complaint is that the bridge is not properly shaped - the E string side should be more curved so it's lower on that side. My bridge is only gently curved at all and trying to isolate the D and A strings is a nightmare. I am seriously considering seeking out a luthier to fit a better bridge and to give the fingerboard a once over. From what I can tell, the sounds coming from this violin are bright but not shrill, the bow is decent and didn't need a lot of rosining even the first time trying for a sound. I'm still excited about my purchase!

Great instrument! My son loves his new violin thank you to Glarry music. It was pristine and just as show. The fact that he could tune it himself was great as well. Just wish it didnt take so long plus I paid to rush it.

The instrument is very good looking in my opinion as well as the accessories, but I was very disappointed at the fact that my bow is broken or doesn't work. When I screw to tighten the frog the bow rises like a rainbow and does not tighten the hair.

It took me most of a full day to find the information and set up the instrument decently. You need to include instruction which explain the strings at nut should be carefully placed 16mm G to E, and 33mm on the bridge. The bridge feet must be carefully shaped to fit the body. String height at end of fretboard should be G 5.5mm to E 3.5mm, which is done by carving or sanding a ...

You should include a simple template in card stock for this. Because I didn't understand this at first, the strings scared my nut in bad locations. Please know many of your customers are totally unaware and have no teacher, but want to play. A decent setup will take a non-pro at least 3 hours----after they learn what they need to do. Glarry: hire a luthier to make a special instruction sheet for all this with household tools, and include this with your violins. Good value, very poor information.

Wow I have to say that I don't know anything about a Violin. I've been a drummer for 50 yrs. Wanted to try something completely different. It came Fedex, wow for $50 and everything is included. My sister is an orchestra teacher, and she commented that, while it will always be an inexpensive student violin, it sounds decent. She mentioned that if I purchased a Glasser fiberglass bow for it, I should be fine using it to teach myself to play. I already play the Mandolin, so transitioning to the fiddle is actually an easy transition. I purchased this from Glarry after watching some online videos and comparisons. Also, I wasn't sure if I'd like the fiddle as I've never tried one (I refuse to touch my sister's $15k violin), but this has convinced me to pursue the fiddle, and I will be looking at a better instrument once I am more comfortable playing. This instrument will be given to a budding musician after I replace it. This fiddle was well worth more than what I paid for it. Thank you Glarry for selling affordable instruments that are not junk.

I was happy overall with the purchase. Unfortunately the bow broke at the tip while applying the rosin. Using a different bow I was able to play the violinwhich head a nice sound.

I actually got this for my 5 year old, but the 3/4 size is a bit large for him. However, he loves it, and the quality is great for the price. I enjoy playing it as well! It is just the right size for me, so I'm considering getting him a 1/4 size and keeping this 3/4 one for myself!

Since I heard horror stories about buying things online, I never bought an instrument online before, so I was very reluctant to try. However, it arrived a day earlier than expected with a complete outfit of case, bow, resin, chin rest, shoulder rest ...

The teacher set it up and now I'm playing it, yet it only cost $56.98 (including shipping insurance). I don't see how a beginner can do any better than that unless someone gives them a violin for free.

Although it is absolutely beautiful there were a few small issues. The instruction that came with it need to be more explanatory. While they give you a brief idea of how to assemble the violin they do not explain how to place the bridge, use the tuning pegs, and setup the bow well enough for someone who has never picked one up. The case and all other parts and accessories are fantastic for beginners. The digital tuner needs instructions though.
